Magus / Forgemage Quick n Easy guide
Question: Why did they change the system?
Answer: My personal take is that they have made it easier to get runes now, with the shattering feature in magus workshop. You get lots of runes by shattering items with stats on them, especially for items with Pods or Initiative.
Question: What is the best item to get runes from?
Answer: Bags with pods are the best. Gobball Belts are pretty good too, and they sell cheaply in sellrooms. So just grab a bunch and shatter them. I personally bought / gathered some materials for the Great Grower's Bag (Green Color nasty bag), find an upcoming leveling tailor such as kiwiwheat or spacecomm and have them make my bags for free. They get the exp, you get pretty much 90-95% for your bags. A great grower bag will yield on average 400-500 Pod runes for you to do your leveling.
Question: What item do you level on? It is troublesome to always have to select the item to mage each time and reload does not work.
Answer: You have to find the items that work best for you. I use thousands of nimbly rings (with +1agi - you will know why later) for jewelmagus, thousands of lucky belts for shoemagus and just 2x hammersmith hammers (hammers with no stats) for hammer forgemage. Carry a bunch of them and you can make the reload works.
Question: How does the experience works in the new system and what is the best way to level?
Answer: It is a different scenario to level shoemagus / jewelmagus vs other jobs. Key reason is, there are no rings /amulets or shoes / belts that has 0 stat-points by default. And that make a difference. So let's start with the simple thing. The best way is to level up with pod runes (lvl 10 rune). You get heaps of them easy, and you just have to run them through as fast as you can. So you need to make reload work for you. The experience you will get with pod runes in most cases are as follows:
- Lvl 1 to 40 - 10 exp per mage (success or fail)
- Lvl 40 to 90 - 25 exp per mage (success or fail)
- Lvl 90 to 100 - 50 exp per mage (success of fail)
Now, to the slightly more complicated jobs such as jewelmagus and shoemagus. They do not have items with 0 stats and that has an impact to the experience you get. You can mage a Nimbly Ring or Lucky Belt, and you will fail terribly (100%), and eventually after 5-10 failures, the Nimbly Ring or Lucky Belt will lose its stats. Here's the tricky bit. If you continue to use pod runes on the 0 stat Nimbly Ring or Lucky Belt, you will start to get success rates and will end up with a whole bunch of rings or belts with different pods on it (Which is frustrating!!! So you should not be doing so.) That's not ALL! When you start to mage the items that has lost stats to 0, you get only 10 exp with pod runes, regardless what level your magus profession is. So you should just grab a whole bunch of "fresh" nimbly rings and lucky belts, and mage them until they turn from fresh to a whole bunch of useless rings / belts with no stats. (You can still trade them for scrolls :P so don't worry)
So in short, if you are leveling a magus job, and there's an item in your profession that has an equipment with no stats by default, you're lucky. Just run the runes and you'll be done. If you are doing jewelmagus and shoemagus, start saving up your nimbly rings and lucky belts. You do not want to work on anything that has more than +1, coz you might end up with a whole bunch of +0 or +1 or +2 or +3 stat points and that is not smart leveling.
I'm tired now... so i'll end here. This should help to get most of you started - i hope :D

Smithmagic fun and facts

I'll start this by giving you some easy-to-understand smithmagic tips and mostly referencing what the worries, unproven assumptions and claims i have read on impsvillage in the past few weeks. - Adding stats which are within the min-max stats range on the item - Good success rate
- Adding stats below the min stats range on the item - Very Good success rate
- Adding crits/range/heals bonus - Moderate success rate
- Adding any stats bonus above max stats range on item - Very Low success rate
- Adding any bonus which are not default on the item - Very Low success rate
- Adding any bonus on items with +AP or +MP - Low success rate
- Adding AP or MP to items with +AP or +MP - Extremely Low success rate
- Adding any bonus on items with +Range - Moderate success rate
- Adding any bonus to items with high ini and/or high pods - Very Low success rate
- Any of the above on "signed" items - Same success rate as per stated respectively
That's about it for now. As i complete more experiments, i'll report with a matrix on the type of runes used tabulated with the conditions. What is missing from the above is the factoring of the total power on the belt. That is somehow a little puzzling at this point. Meanwhile i hope this will help you to better understand the smithmagic system implemented. Cheerios! and happy reading.
Addition -- Here are some guidance on the relativeness of the qualitative success rates
- Good to Very Good - 50% - 90%
- Moderate - 25% - 50%
- Low - 10% - 25%
- Extremely Low to Very Low - 0% - 10%

Made Jeweller Profession Lvl 100 too
Getting bored of Dofus lately, and decided also to take down my wings, coz there's just no point having them up and always be conscious abt getting aggro outside, while in wisdom set. There's not much stuffs i require a rank to use anyway. So i'll just play along and go level happy wherever i like / want.

A teasing wonder
The most amazing Teasing Thongs i ever made, with only 1 point off perfect chance. Ogle at it while you can, and if you wanna know who have this, it's a cra named onemanarmy.I wonder how much this shoe is worth. It definitely is a great pair of shoe for any high-level enu or chance based character with a perfect wisdom for good leveling or AP / MP Resists.

Back to writing again :D
Had a great holiday down in Queenstown New Zealand for some snowboarding fun and other fun activities. Simply love doing the Bungy! :D That's me jumping off the bungy off a ledge extended over the mountains. Simply Love it!Back to Dofus after a week and couldn't be bothered to update the blog with new information. Just being lazy and too many things to catch up at work. Will be updating some new Lomocrafts partners, such as Aliana who has made Hammersmith and Hammer Forgemage lvl 100. She has built up a nice service section on her website too which i will create the link to it later.
Bought a new IBM ThinkPad T-series and pending delivery; that could mean more Dofus to come!? And in the thought process on considering a Rancilio Silvia Espresson machine with a matching grinder. That's gonna set me back another few hundreds to a thousand. i need to make 10m in Dofus to make up for it. HAHAHA
Gonna make this short and sweet just to let everyone know i'm back. Will also be putting in some Google Metrics tags to track how much traffic i am getting for the blurb i post here. It's fun to see where you get the visits from :D
